We’ve teamed up with Diva Destinations on a cruise to the majestic Norwegian fjords and you’re all invited 🛳
BY DIVA STAFF
DIVA magazine is delighted to be partnering with lesbian holiday company Diva Destinations on a hosted group cruise to the majestic fjords of Norway.
Taking place 9-16 May 2020 on board the luxury five-star Celebrity Silhouette, guests will set sail from Southampton, taking in the magnificent sites of Bergen, Olden, Geiranger and Stavanger, before returning to the UK.
You’ll be treated to breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls, clear blue lakes and mountains, and visits to “chocolate box” fjord villages with bustling harbours and historic Hanseatic buildings.
As well as having access to all the benefits of a normal Celebrity Cruise – fine dining, spa treatments, entertainment, pools and hot tubs – guests on this hosted group cruise can expect a little something special, as legendary singer songwriter Horse McDonald will be wowing our guests with two exclusive performances, before getting up close and personal in an intimate Q&A evening.
A once in a lifetime opportunity to meet likeminded women and make friends, our group will meet each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also enjoy a variety of exclusive events.
Representatives from Diva Destinations and DIVA magazine will look after you from the moment you arrive until we wave goodbye in Southampton.
Travelling solo? No problem. A designated Diva Solos host will ensure everyone gets an opportunity to meet and mix, creating a relaxed and friendly environment where everyone is welcome.
So whether you’re a group of friends, a couple, or travelling on your own, there will be something for everyone on DIVA magazine’s maiden voyage!

Day 1 and 2: Set sail
Depart Southampton and cruise through the channel towards the North Sea. Our second full day will be spent at sea.
Day 3: Bergen
The Gateway to the Fjords of Norway: With its ideal location right in the heart of the Fjord Norway region, between the Hardangerfjord and the Sognefjord, it is the perfect starting point for our cruise.
Bergen became an important European city of trade in the 13th century, as the Hansas opened one of their four offices on the wharf, making Bergen a European hub of commerce, seafaring and craftsmanship.
A stroll through the back streets of Bryggen brings you back to the Middle Ages, as a lot of the architecture is preserved or rebuilt as it was built. Several museums, like the Hanseatic Museum, Bryggens Museum and the Theta Museum provides a deeper sense of the history of Bryggen.
Day 4: Olden
Olden is a small village located at the mouth of the Oldeelva river in Sogn og Fjordane county. This small village has a population of about 505 people and in its small centre you will find cafes.
It is thought of as one of the most important cruise ship harbours in Western Norway because of the stunning scenic beauty of the area.
The lovely Oldevatnet lake is located about 10km south of Olden between steep mountains and roaring waterfalls.
Day 5: Geiranger
Geiranger is a small village at the very end of the famous Geirangerfjord, included on the prestigious UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.
The whole area surrounding this tiny village is spectacular, and visiting Geiranger you can expect dramatic fjord landscape, beautiful nature and cultural experiences.
Here, you can go sightseeing on the fjord and see the mighty waterfalls, abandoned farms high up in the mountains, and find spectacular panoramic views from several vantage points.
Day 6: Stavanger
Surrounded by beautiful fjords, mountains, and long, white beaches, Stavanger and Sandnes also boasts an impressive assortment of museums and cultural events.
Famed for its many natural attractions and old wooden houses, the Stavanger region is on the radar of nearly every visitor to Norway. Here, you can explore scenic landmarks such as the Lysefjord, Sola beach, and the famous cliff Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) which Lonely Planet once named the world’s most breathtaking viewing platform.
Though Stavanger is an ever-evolving city, its proud history shines through. Old Stavanger has Europe’s best preserved wooden house settlement with more than 170 white wooden houses.
Day 7: At Sea
Our penultimate day is spent at sea, cruising back to Southampton. A day to relax with new friends, play some deck games, and reflect on a trip of a lifetime.
