Celebrate your queeroes by nominating them for a DIVA Award!
BY DIVA STAFF
Who made your 2019 really, really special? Was it US Soccer captain Megan Rapinoe, when she lifted the FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer, or Adele Roberts chowing down on unmentionables for her camp mates in the jungle?
Maybe it was writer and historical researcher Anne Choma, whose work deciphering Anne Lister’s diaries helped make BBC’s Gentleman Jack the success that it was? It might have been broadcaster Jane Hill, who returned to work after treatment for breast cancer? Or perhaps a colleague, who champions LGBQTI visibility and equality in your workplace?
Whoever your lesbian and bi queeroes are, now’s your chance to say thank you by nominating them for a DIVA Award!
Now in its fourth year, this star-studded event is the only one of its kind, celebrating women and non-binary people in our community.
Previous winners include Bake Off’s Sandi Toksvig, Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick, former Stonewall CEO Ruth Hunt and UK Black Pride Executive Director Phyll Opoku-Gyimah.
This year’s ceremony takes place at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms on Friday 24 April, the crowing jewel in a series of events to mark what we’re calling Lesbian Visibility Week – seven days when lesbians and bi women are not the supporting act but the main event.
Who do you want to see take home a DIVA Award in 2020? Nominate your favourites now! You’ve got until 20 January 2020…
