Be prepared to binge-watch them all

The Incredibly True Adventure Of Two Girls In Love
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That is Tina from The L Word (aka Laurel Holloman) playing a baby butch called Randy, who falls head over 90s Converse for her gorgeous classmate, Evie (Nicole Parker). Sweet rather than saucy, this cosy classic is the perfect thing to watch on a rainy afternoon.
In this steamy 90s noir, Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly positively smoulder in their respective roles as ex-con Corky and femme fatale Violet. Their chemistry is electric as they embark on a dangerous plan to escape into the sunset with a briefcase full of cash. Still gripping after all these years, a must for sapphic cinephiles.
The Watermelon Woman
In her groundbreaking directorial debut, Cheryl Dunne plays a fictionalised version of herself making a documentary about a black actor from the 30s named Fae Richards. Cheryl uncovers Fae’s affair with a white woman, paralleling her own blossoming romance with Diana (Guinevere Turner). Funny, clever and joyful.
We couldn’t make a list of 90s flicks without giving a shout out to bonafide lez/bi classic, Go Fish. It’s a bold, beloved, and occasionally bonkers tale of a “carefree single lesbo looking for love”. Guinevere Turner plays Max, who wears a backwards baseball cap and just wants to find a nice lady to buy a cat with.
But I’m A Cheerleader
A pre-OITNB Natasha Lyonne stars as cheerleader Megan, who’d rather perve on other pom-pom wielding ladies than snog her jock boyfriend. She’s shipped off to gay conversion camp, where she meets unrepentant lezza Graham (Clea DuVall). Quirky, hilarious and delightfully camp. Look out for a cameo from RuPaul.
