Flowers is a sexy and sultry tune, with a music video to match

BY SOPHIE GRIFFITHS

It’s been a long time since we were blessed with new music from our favourite acoustic pop babe, Lucy Spraggan. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been busy since her last album release back in 2019.

After losing over three and a half stone and becoming sober, Lucy has been working on album number six, as well as a brand new online fitness regime, Fully Rewired, to help others get physically active too! With over 7,000 sign ups already, we can totally see why after catching a glimpse of Lucy in her fresh video for Flowers.

The single is all about a lover catching your eye, and there’s an almost western, Tarantino vibe, whilst still retaining Lucy’s classic acoustic energy. It clearly showcases the evolution of Lucy’s style and sound, and we are here for it.

Speaking about the single on Instagram, Lucy said: “Despite being out since I was about five this is the first time ever in my life I have felt comfortable about writing songs about my sexuality. I feel so fucking grateful that I can be openly lesbian, making music and videos like ‘Flowers’.”

“There are a lot of countries where videos like this would absolutely not be allowed. Lots of countries where being gay is still despicably punishable for. I am very lucky. Waving my big LGBTQ+ flag forever and now also in my music.”

Sadly, the album has been pushed back due to the effect of COVID-19 on the music industry. We can expect the release of Choices 26 February 2021, but we can assure you there’ll be plenty of singles along the way to whet our appetites.
