If this is just a joke, we’re not laughing

As queermas is fast approaching, the only thing we can think about is when is it acceptable to watch Carol for the first time this year. Of course, we’ve all been tempted to re-watch during lockdown. But we all know Carol is best saved for a cosy evening in front of the fire with a hot chocolate.

It seems Sarah Paulson, who plays Abby, a friend of Carol’s in the Christmas classic, is also having some interesting thoughts about the film.

When asked by Grazia UK about the roles that she’d love to dig back into, Sarah revealed: “I would have loved to go back and make a move about the relationship that Carol and Abby had prior to the movie beginning.”

According to Sarah, Abby has a much larger role in The Price of Salt, the 1952 Patricia Highsmith novel upon which Carol is based.

We are praying that Sarah really means it when she says: “I’ll talk to Todd Haynes and Cate Blanchett and see if they’re interested.”
