Jade Winters, the woman behind Wicked Winters Films, has launched a crowd-funder for new film One More Lie

The company produces films written by the best-selling author Jade Winters. Working with producer Alex Hogben, Jade aims to bring high-quality LGBTQI content to a wider audience.
Jade first started writing at the age of seven and went on to earn herself a degree in journalism. After a period working in property development, Jade completed her first novel, One Four Three, following the death of her father.
Wicked Winters Films was founded after Jade very impressively penned 20 novels. One Four Three, which Jade also directed, was the company’s first feature and was preceded by six short films, which can be viewed on Vimeo.
Jade’s new endeavour, One More Lie, is based on Jade’s novel Missing Pieces, and features lesbian detective Ashley McCoy. In this crime thriller, Ashley investigates a man’s sudden disappearance, but boundaries are blurred during the search and the man’s wife and Ashley are drawn closer together.
Wicked Winters Films have launched the crowdfunding project to make One More Lie “as dramatic and epic as it deserves to be”. Although previous projects were self-funded, this marks the first time Wicked Winters Films have sought finance from outside.
Jade Winters explains: “Although lesbian representation in film has increased, it’s surprisingly absent outside of the romance genre. One More Lie is a crime thriller first and foremost, with a strong female lead, which is something lacking in detective feature films. We really need more LGBTQI representation across all genres.”
