Nats Getty has today revealed that they are trans non-binary, sharing details of their journey and top surgery. The 28-year-old model, designer and LGBTQI activist, who married YouTuber Gigi Gorgeous back in 2019, shared a statement to social media in which they explained they had undergone top surgery to start their physical transition along with a topless selfie next to their wife.
The video posted to Gigi’s YouTube channel saw Nats and Gigi, who have been together for five years, going on a road trip to San Francisco so that Nats could get their top surgery.
Nats, who has not specified gender pronouns yet, posted: “I am so nervous as I type this, but I know the time is now.”
“I am transgender, non-binary. I have spent my entire life not in sync with the body I was born with and confined with an outwardly appearance that did not match my mind or soul.
“It wasn’t until recently that I was even comfortable admitting this to myself, once I was able to look inwards and truly reflect on my authentic self.”
The post continued: “So I decided to start my physical transition and get top surgery. This surgery is something I’ve wanted for years and I can’t believe I will finally have the chest I have always dreamed of.”
“While I feel blessed to be able to start my transition surrounded by love and support, it’s not lost on me the many people who are having to navigate this alone and in silence.”
“I know it’s a privilege that I’m even able to move forward with this when for many it’s an impossible option due to their circumstance.”
Various celebrity friends in the LGBTQI community left comments congratulating Nats on their surgery. Actress Ruby Rose wrote: “Congrats Nats!”, with Demi Lovato commenting: “YESSSSS LOVE YOU.”
Included in the beginning of the video posted by Gigi, a statement from Nats also states: “I am trans non-binary. I went to San Francisco to get top surgery. I’m allowing myself time with my new body to decide what pronouns best suit me.”
“During this time, some people refer to me as she/her and I don’t find it insulting because I am still on my journey of figuring out what pronouns work for me.”
