Not sure how you’re going to be celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday? Well, we’ve got just the thing. On Monday 8 March, Gaydio will feature an all-female line up to celebrate International Women’s Day 2021.
All day long, you’ll be able to tune in and feel empowered by a packed line up of female presenters, featuring some iconic DIVA favourites.
Starting the international celebration, singer songwriter Lucy Spraggan will be taking over the breakfast show from 7-10am. Network Programme Manager Kriss Herbert says “its so great to have Lucy join us to mark this day. She’s popular in the community and we’re looking forward to having her join us”.
Next up on the line-up will be Ellie Talebian, with Rosin Murray taking over from 1pm. At 4pm, former Gaydio breakfast presenter Emma Goswell will be welcomed back until 7pm. Then Dulcie Danger will be on the decks into the evening, finishing at 9pm. Rounding off the day in true hands-in-the-air fashion is The Blessed Madonna.
Alex Baker, Network Programming Manager said “women are at the heart of the community and a huge part of Gaydio and it is really important that we take this opportunity to highlight and champion the part they play. Gaydio is the UK’s biggest LGBT+ radio station and I want to make sure that our audience feel part of what we do”.
Gaydio reaches 535,000 listeners per week across the UK, making it one of the biggest media platforms for an LGBT audience in the country. It broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio (Manchester, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Brighton & Plymouth) as well as on FM in Manchester and Brighton. You can also get the service online and through mobile apps and smart speakers.
