“It’s kind of like a really fun colourful QVC”

A new online festival dedicated to promoting and celebrating LGBTQI+ brands, businesses, artists, and creators launches next week.
Running from 2 – 5 April, Queer Qreate is a live interactive experience celebrating LGBTQI+ creators and small businesses. Over 35 brands, creators and artists are coming together live in a one of a kind online festival, on unique shopping platform Strykin Live.
Described as a queer QVC, expect shopping events featuring bling jewellery and gorgeous clothes as well as performances, tutorials, live podcasts, exclusive drops, launches and more from LGBTQI+ creators.
“The Queer Qreate Festival is more than just a festival,” explains Rhema, co-founder of Strykin Live. “It is the launch of our new LGBTQ+ space on Strykin Live, where creators will be going live to connect with audiences.
“What sets us apart from other online live events is that audiences can support [creators] by shopping their products and tipping their performances all in real time during the live. Kind of like a really fun colourful QVC.”
Calling it the “closest thing online to going to a real-life festival”, Rhema adds: “It’s an online space unlike any other where both creators and audiences can come together in an exciting experience.
“We were inspired to create this space after many fun streams with Luke from Dragged Out London, and seeing what a vibrant and positive space his streams were for the community.
“Many fun and inclusive events were cancelled in the pandemic where LGBTQ+ businesses were able to grow and gain support.
“We are hoping to be grow an online space where Queer Qreatives are championed and supported, which is safe not only from Covid but also from judgement and hate.”
Small businesses, artists, creatives, and performers are invited to get involved, so contact Queer Qreate via their website to showcase your talents at the festival.
