Last night Kaleidoscope Trust were joined by colleagues, partners, activists, allies and friends to celebrate its milestone 10th birthday, which marks a decade of work fighting for the human rights of LGBTQI people across the Commonwealth.

Over the last 10 years, the organisation has earned an important and trusted place when it comes to global change making. People know that the charity will raise their voices in places where they go unheard. Over the years the Kaleidoscope Trust has worked with a range of activists and change makers who have informed how they approach their work.

Executive Director Phyll Opoku-Gyimah addressed attendees saying: “We’ve been able to do this work for a decade because so many people show up – in big, small, important ways – for the global LGBT+ community.”

There were many in attendance such as Baroness Barker, Schools OUT UK, Mermaids, Phillipa Drew, DIVA’s very own Roxy Bourdillon and Linda Riley and many more!

Throughout the ceremony attendees got to learn about the organisation’s history and its focuses and goals for the next decade. The next 10 years hold a great deal of potential and the Kaleidoscope Trust are well aware of the challenges that lay ahead in this time of upheaval and uncertainty. Their mission to work towards a future where the world is a place in which LGBTQI people are free, safe and equal everywhere is of course the driving force behind it all. The charity reminded people of the importance of community.

DIVAs, we’re sure you’ll join us in raising a toast thanking the team behind Kaleidoscope Trust for their much-needed work over the last decade. Here’s to the next decade! 🎉
