🚨Sapphic tension klaxon🚨

BY NADIA DAVIES

Sunday evening (21 March 2021) saw the return of AC-12 favourites, DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), in the sixth season of BBC police drama Line Of Duty.

To catch you up, Kate is no longer working with AC-12 and is now working under new boss DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald), investigating the murder of journalist Gail Vella (Andi Osho), while Steve is still working with Hastings in AC-12.

It’s unclear if DCI Davidson’s motives are pure, but one thing is certain: she’s queer. The episode sees Davidson arguing with her ex, PC Farida Jatri, when she returns to collect “the last of her things”. Tears, shouting and accusations of cheating ensue, with Jatri accusing Davidson of having an affair with Kate.

Could they? Would they? The sapphic tension bubbling between Fleming and Davidson was clearly too much for some Twitter users…

…with many shipping #Flemson.

The end of the episode saw a tender moment between the two, with Davidson holding Fleming’s hand, eyes locked on hers…

… leaving fans longing for more.

We can’t wait to see how this unfolds, but whatever twists and turns are in store, DIVA is 100% #TeamFlemson!
